In this recap, we'll go over the major events of this episode in detail.
Daenerys Targaryen and Jon Snow Meet
The episode started with a highly anticipated meeting between Daenerys Targaryen and Jon Snow. The two leaders finally came face to face after six seasons of waiting. However, their first encounter wasn't exactly cordial, as Daenerys demanded Jon to bend the knee and pledge loyalty to her as the rightful ruler of the Seven Kingdoms. Jon refused, stating his priority is to defeat the Night King and his army of White Walkers. The tension between the two leaders continued to escalate throughout the episode.
Euron Greyjoy Takes Yara and Ellaria Prisoner
In a brutal surprise attack at sea, Euron Greyjoy ambushed Yara's fleet and took her, Ellaria Sand, and her daughter Tyene as prisoners. Euron presented his prisoners to Cersei Lannister as a gift, gaining her favor and strengthening their alliance. In a shocking twist, Cersei enacted revenge on Ellaria for the death of her daughter Myrcella by poisoning Tyene with the same poison Ellaria used on Myrcella.
Cersei Takes Highgarden
In another battle scene, the Lannister army attacked Highgarden, the home of House Tyrell. Despite the valiant efforts of Lady Olenna Tyrell, the Lannisters were able to conquer the castle and loot its riches. Lady Olenna drank poison given to her by Jaime Lannister, but not before confessing to him that she was responsible for the murder of his son Joffrey.
Samwell Tarly Discovers the Cure for Greyscale
During his studies at the Citadel, Samwell Tarly discovered a cure for Greyscale, a deadly disease that had previously been thought to be incurable. Despite his achievements, he was chastised by Archmaester Ebrose for performing the procedure without permission. Samwell then received a raven from Jon Snow, urging him to send a message to Daenerys about the White Walkers threat.
Theon Greyjoy Survives Euron's Attack
In the opening scene, Euron attacked Yara's fleet and captured Theon. During the attack, Theon was forced to watch as Euron killed Yara's lover, and he suffered a psychological breakdown, reverting back to his Reek persona from when he was tortured by Ramsay Bolton. However, in a later scene, Theon was shown to still be alive, floating in the same water where Euron's ship had left him to die.
The Conclusion
The Queen's Justice ended with a cliffhanger, as Daenerys prepared to take action against the Lannisters, and Jon Snow gathered allies for his fight against the Night King. As the season continues, fans can only anticipate more battles, more surprising twists, and more bloodshed.
