The Plot
Game of Thrones Season 6 Episode 2, titled “Home”, starts with a flashback of Bran watching his father, Ned Stark, practicing sword fighting. Bran then wakes up in the cave with the Three-Eyed Raven and Meera. Meera is anxious to leave the cave but the Three-Eyed Raven tells Bran that he needs to learn more before they can leave. Meanwhile, at Castle Black, Ser Davos convinces Melisandre to attempt to bring Jon Snow back to life.
Over at Winterfell, Ramsay Bolton receives the news of his father’s death and he is declared the new Lord of Winterfell. Ramsay then kills his father’s wife and his newborn brother. Meanwhile, Theon and his sister Yara are on a ship heading towards Meereen to meet Daenerys Targaryen. Daenerys, on the other hand, is being held captive by the Dothraki.
In King's Landing, the Tyrells and the Lannisters join forces to kill the Faith Militant. Tommen also confronts the High Sparrow but fails to get him to release his mother, Cersei.
The Characters
Bran Stark is the main character in this episode. He is learning more about his powers and his role as the Three-Eyed Raven. Jon Snow’s character is also very important, even though he spends most of the episode dead. Ser Davos and Melisandre also play important roles in trying to bring Jon Snow back to life.
Ramsay Bolton continues to be the main villain in this season. He is cruel and ruthless, as he demonstrates by killing his family members. Theon and Yara are also important characters in this episode, as they attempt to seek Daenerys’s help.
Cersei Lannister and Tommen Baratheon also play important parts in this episode, as they continue to battle the Faith Militant. The High Sparrow continues to be a mysterious and intriguing character, as he seems to have the upper hand in his dealings with Cersei and Tommen.
